Oh Snap! Traffic!

Be careful what you wish for.

I want to increase traffic to the site by any means I can afford. Which isn't much right now. I hope that my prayers are answered, I just hope the man downstairs doesn't hear first!

What I have learned so far is there is no real balance between tweets generated and followers mentioned. My ratio tweets to followers is below 33%. I have been to twits/tweeters/birdies(?) profiles where the ratio is over 100%! The answer? They have been tweeting longer.

Oh boo hoo! I could get a book on driving traffic, but the books cost more than the annual fees some want for driving traffic to my site. How does that work? Why do I need to pay a monthly fee for a service attached to a book that I can't get without giving my email and is not available by Amazon? Road rage is setting in.

If we are all in this together please help me understand why you all wont visit me on specialMUSE.com and make my restless mind at peace?!

Following a life with Autism

Writing is not one of my strong suits. I have great handwriting, but beginning to put words to paper always begins with blocked thoughts. Many times I am forced to write what I have read from others, and I wonder whether that is what Mac, my son with autism, does.

We know he experiences many autistic traits such as echolalia, but unfortunately he repeats the things we don't want others to hear that might have been spoken out of frustration. It is very frustrating trying to learn what is the matter with him when he is upset because the echolalia manifests itself predominately when he is stressed.

Coincidentally I am trying to get my daughter who has asperger syndrome to practice echolalia to show people she is listening to their conversation without having to work so hard at it. Opposite of her brother, she is quite frustrated with not being able to speak her mind even when it is extremely off topic. I am amazed how different the two people and conditions are.

So I use echolalia to come up with a means for writing on tasks regarding a subject at hand, and I regret not coming up with my own thoughts immediately and having to write what I think others want to hear. As I tell most of my friends who know our family, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree nor does it care!

All kidding aside if your reading this I promise to bring some originality and and my own experiences to this blog as I travel a road living with autism.

Reaching out to your community

SpecialMUSE.com, an online product and service directory dedicated to serving those with special needs, needs your support and assistance in locating and listing valuable product and service providers in your area. Your assistance will help others locate valuable resources and save time and money when assisting their families and friends who have special needs.

Why specialMUSE.com? First most providers do not do a good job of self promotion, and second, affordable or convenient providers in your area are not represented well online. SpecialMUSE.com is a comprehensive database of information and links compiled by research and information provided by individuals who have a concern about special needs. If you can find most large support interests online, that is to be expected(they have the budgets to do so), but the valuable resources needed by individuals and families like yours in the community should not be over shadowed due to their lack of self promotion. Last, many regular businesses who don't recognize their product or services value to the special needs market can be better identified and represented, thus increasing their business and market share.
Today we are seeking support groups for those with special needs in your community. If you know of or operate a support group please list it on www.specialmuse.com.
But it all starts with you. Your FREE registration and your input of FREE listings for providers in your community help grow our service everywhere. We value outside input into the development of both our database and our website. Please take a moment to explore our site at www.specialMUSE.com, register FREE, and then let us know what you think!
